NATURAL OR HUMAN MADE?

It was probably little surprise to most Americans when the Energy Department recently reported that it believes the coronavirus that caused the Covid-19 pandemic originated from a laboratory in China and likely did not mutate naturally from an animal to humans. That’s because a majority of Americans always believed the lab leak theory.

According to an Economist/YouGov poll in early March, 66% of Americans agreed that it was definitely or probably true that the virus came from a lab. That was up from 59% two years earlier, and up from 54% in May 2000 – two months after the onset of the pandemic.
