As the first act of the new Congress, the Republican majority voted to repeal funding for nearly 87,000 additional Internal Revenue Service employees. The Democrat-led Senate and President Joe Biden have vowed to block that measure. According to a Rasmussen Reports survey released in midmonth, 56% approve of the vote to repeal funding while 37% disapprove.
