Dr. Susanne Nicholas is a tenured professor of medicine and a nationally renowned, highly respected clinical hypertension specialist in the UCLA Health Division of Nephrology. She has joint appointments in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Policy. She chairs the Nephrology Racial and Health Equity Committee. Dr. Nicholas’ translational research aims to understand and identify key factors that promote diabetic kidney disease (DKD) pathogenesis, validate novel therapeutic targets and predictive biomarkers of DKD and perform population studies in chronic kidney disease (CKD) health disparities using a large CKD registry.
