TERRENCE FRANKLIN

Partner Sacks, Glazier, Franklin & Lodise LLP

It’s true that Terrence Franklin is regarded as one of the top litigators in the U.S. by clients and colleagues, but one of his greatest impacts has been his role as an influential mentor. He is renowned for his commitment to furthering the advancement of minority lawyers. As a gay, African American lawyer, Franklin works tirelessly to bring awareness and educate others about the importance of diversity and inclusion.

Franklin holds countless leadership positions in organizations which impact the law and support his mission to “Help Bend the Arc of History Towards Justice.” For example, Franklin is a longtime Fellow and first African American member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), the preeminent organization in the trusts and estates industry. Its members are elected to the College by demonstrating the highest level of integrity, competence and at least 10 years’ experience as trust and estate counselors. Fellows must have also demonstrated their commitment to the profession through consistently writing and speaking.

Within Sacks Glazier Franklin & Lodise, Franklin takes an active role in the firm’s recruiting and hiring efforts for minority attorneys, and has brought on Afghani, African American, Armenian, Filipino and Latino associates. He serves as a mentor for these attorneys to personally grow their practice and network.

For his mentees, Franklin has provided direct guidance as well as letters of recommendation and introductions for opportunities, such as the California Lawyers Association Trust and Estate Section Executive Committee.
