MICHAEL RAPINO

Chief Executive & President Live Nation Entertainment Inc.

As pandemic lockdowns fade, Rapino finds his concert business is snapping back. But with uncertainty about health issues for future mass gatherings, Live Nation is building live-video streaming capabilities. In December, the company bought 51% of Latin American concert promoter OCESA Entretenimiento for about $415 million. Tragedy struck in November when 10 people died in a crowd surge at Houston’s Astroworld festival, raising serious questions about Live Nation’s record for safety. Also, Rapino took hard aim at the competing Coachella festival with a “Coachella Day One 22” New Year’s concert, triggering a spate of litigation. Live Nation also owns dominant ticketing service Ticketmaster.
