De Silva took over at Century City-based Triller Inc. last year amid a streak of major acquisition deals for the company. These purchases, which include livestream music platform Verzuz and pay-perview sports streaming service Fite, have expanded Triller’s user base and broadened the scope of the company’s social media strategy. De Silva is now preparing to take the company public through a planned reverse merger. De Silva began his career at Apple Inc. and later served as chief executive of AdMarvel, which was purchased by Opera Software in 2010. In 2016, he co-founded Amplify.AI, the developer of an artificial intelligence-based consumer engagement platform. Triller acquired the company in 2021.
