Chairman Public Storage

Havner, while no longer the chief executive of Glendale-based Public Storage, has been its chairman since 2011. Last year the company, which was founded in 1972, acquired 232 self-storage facilities with 21.8 million net rentable square feet for a total of $5.1 billion. The company also opened six newly developed facilities with 1.6 million net rentable square feet. Havner joined Public Storage in 1986 and has held a variety of senior management positions before being named chief executive in 2002. He has been chairman of Public Storage’s affiliate, PS Business Parks Inc., since 1998.
