The retired Walt Disney Co. chief was recently pictured aboard a superyacht in the Caribbean, and many wonder if Iger will sail into the metaverse – which is an entrepreneurial interest – or dock back at Disney to help with brewing challenges there. In May, Iger joined a consortium buying into pop-culture collectibles brand Funko and in March was named to the board of Los Angeles-based Genies, whose software allows consumers to make their own metaverse avatars. Iger is also known to harbor an interest in high government office – he’s been a registered Democrat and also non-affiliated. Iger was Disney CEO for 15 years.
