President & Chief Executive PIH Health

West became president and chief executive officer of PIH Health in 2004. Under his leadership, PIH has experienced significant expansion; it now comprises three hospitals – Downey, Good Samaritan and Whittier – 35 outpatient medical offices and six urgent care centers among other facilities. In October, the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives identified PIH Health as one of the nation’s top hospital systems for best practices, cuttingedge advancements, quality care and health care technology. In March, PIH Health expanded its home care service to include nonmedical care to keep seniors living independently in their homes. West joined PIH Health in 2000 as chief operating officer, following 12 years of leadership positions in the Kaiser system.
