K1 is an enterprise software-focused private equity and venture capital firm founded by Malik in 2011. Previously, he started the growth equity practice at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, where he focused on growth equity and buyout investments. K1’s 2022 has involved the firm engaging in multiple funding rounds with different companies. In January, cybersecurity company Pentera received $150 million in Series C funding led by K1 and in March, cloud tokenization provider TokenEx raised $100 million in Series B funding from K1. The firm also led a $12 million Series A for property management software RentRedi in April.
