Rising is a commercial real estate veteran of more than 40 years with a huge footprint on L.A.’s commercial real estate scene. His namesake company, which he founded with his son, Christopher Rising, has 5 million square feet of assets under management. Rising oversaw the development of major projects including the U.S. Bank Tower and Gas Company towers downtown. He was also involved in the development of Playa Vista. Rising was previously president and chief executive of MPG Office Trust Inc., chief executive of Catellus Development Corp. and a senior partner at Maguire Thomas Partners. He also managed mayoral campaigns for former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley.
