GENE SEROKA

Executive Director Port of Los Angeles

Seroka was appointed by Mayor Eric Garcetti in 2014 to head up the Port of Los Angeles, which is the nation’s biggest container port. In March 2020, Garcetti named him to serve as the city’s chief logistics officer. At the port, Seroka manages a $1.6 billion budget and is responsible for advancing major capital projects, managing growing trade volumes and promoting sustainable practices. Seroka has been focused on efficiency at the port to clear a backlog that persisted through much of the year to help the country’s supply chain issues. He has called for nationwide port data connectivity to provide enhanced visibility, efficiency and choice for cargo owners.
